COP23: IPEEC side event on “Financing energy efficiency in localities and the G20”

02 Nov 2017

Come join IPEEC for a side event on “Financing Energy Efficiency: Opportunities, challenges and perspectives from the G20 and localities” at COP23 on 9 November 2017!

Energy efficiency represents the most sustainable, cost-effective, and accessible way for countries to meet the Paris Agreement’s ambitious climate target. Yet to truly succeed, energy efficiency requires adequate funding and a supportive policy environment that no single stakeholder group can deliver alone. To rapidly and sufficiently scale up the required levels of investment towards energy efficiency, all have a role to play: from the G20 to the local level.

This side event, co-hosted by IPEEC and the Argentinian Network of Municipalities against Climate Change (RAMCC) with the support of AOB Group, will bring together speakers from the Ministry of Mines and Energy of Argentina, the Copenhagen Centre on Energy Efficiency (C2E2), the Green Climate Fund (GCF), Covenant of Mayors, the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP) and C40 Cities for a dialogue on G20, national and local experiences and perspectives on financing energy efficiency.

“Financing Energy Efficiency: Opportunities, challenges and perspectives from localities and the G20”: 9 November 2017, Bonn Zone, Room 11 from 15:00 to 16:30.
