Energy efficiency continues to be a priority for G20 Energy Ministers

On 15 June, energy ministers from the world’s twenty largest economies met in San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina, for the G20 Energy Ministerial. In their Communiqué, they identified energy efficiency as a priority for G20 members and “a pillar of the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development” given its significant potential to contribute to economic growth, energy security and other benefits such as reducing emissions. 

TOP TENs releases second round of domestic BAT and BPs lists for industrial and building sectors

IPEEC’s TOP TENs Task Group has released its second round of domestic lists documenting the ‘top ten’ best available technologies (BATs) and best practices (BPs) to improve energy efficiency. Participating countries include China, France, Japan and the United States. 

G20 Energy Ministers to meet in San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina

The G20 Energy Ministers’ meeting will take place this Friday, on 15 June, in San Carlos de Bariloche in Argentina. This high-level gathering will be an opportunity to highlight the steady and meaningful progress achieved on energy efficiency cooperation under the framework of the G20 Energy Efficiency Leading Programme under IPEEC’s coordination - as well as to discuss potential new work on behaviour change and energy efficiency.
