IPEEC at first G20 energy sustainability meeting in Munich

On 14-15 December in Munich, Germany, G20 delegates convened for the first meeting of the Energy Sustainability Working Group (ESWG) under the 2017 G20 German presidency. The ESWG is the main G20 body in charge of sustainable energy issues, which include energy efficiency, renewable energy, energy access and fossil-fuel subsidies.

Announced today, the 2017 CEM Energy Management Leadership Awards will raise global awareness of the benefits of energy management and accelerate uptake of these systems to support corporate, national, and global climate goals.

The 5th Energy Efficiency and Energy Savings (ENES) Forum took place on 23-25 November in Moscow, Russia. Considered a main event in the sphere of energy efficiency, the forum was organized by the Russian Ministry of Energy and the city government of Moscow. The aim of ENES is to popularize energy saving policies at the international, federal, regional and municipal levels. This year the event attracted over 16,000 visitors.

Climate conference begins in Marrakesh: IPEEC at COP22

The 22nd Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC) – known more widely as COP22 – beings today in Marrakesh, Morocco. The two-week long event starts on a bright note, with the entry into force of the Paris Agreement signed last December. Much now needs to be done for the Agreement to be successful, and energy efficiency can play a fundamental role in the attainment of the 2°C climate goal.
