TTG Policy Dialogues: Webinar on ‘Japan's new car fuel efficiency standards in a global context’

On Tuesday, 16 July, at 15h CEST, the Transport Task Group is continuing with its policy dialogue series on crucial topics on the sector. Firstly, the International Energy Agency will present the results of a new Global Fuel Economy Initiative (GFEI) benchmarking report that evaluates the technology and policy drivers on historical fuel economy improvements in major car markets.

Then, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) of Japan will present to the Transport Task Group on Japan's new car fuel efficiency standards, which now extend to 2030. Thirdly, the International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) will introduce the GFEI's new vehicle decarbonisation agenda, which establishes a vision, targets, and actions to achieve a 55-70% reduction in road transport CO2 emissions by 2050.
